Printmaking: critique #1

My first group critique in my first printmaking class. I focused of etching, but I tried a woodcut and a couple of photo lithographies. Fun Fun Fun

This is called “Arrivano” (here they come) and it is the last step of an etching zinc plate I’ve been working on since the semester started. Here are some steps.

Another etching is “Wood“. I’ve been told to cut the plate in two dividing the wood from the howl… should I? I will!

This is a play plate. I try etching and engraving effects and ideas here. It is called “Noise” and I think I want to try to print it in color. Dark red maybe?

“Smoke” or “silk”, smolk I guess… This is a photo litho on an image I created with my computer. I’m thinking about showing it inside a jar… I’ll keep you posted.

My first piece in an exhibition, it is a woodcut reduction for the mini gallery of the art department. Maybe not very impressive, but it was a fun process, I guess I’ll do more woodcut.
